1. When Life Falls Apart (Guan and Debbie Hsu)
“When life falls apart, where is God? Does he care? Can he fix things? Does he really love us?”  In light of recent events, some ask “Did God create a deadly virus like Covid-19?” In uncertain times like these, people are seeking answers to these questions. We are going to study the book “When Life Falls Apart” by Warren Wiersbe (2012 Baker Books). From  the introduction:

“The aims of this book are to answer some questions about God and suffering in this world and to point to faith in the grace and power of God as our greatest help when we hurt. In short, it aims to help you look up when life gets you down.”

We welcome you to join us to study this book together in the coming quarter. We are going to follow mostly the outline of the Wiersbe book listed below. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, we are not going to try getting books for the class like we would have done if we were to meet in the class. We highly recommend that you get a copy of the Wiersbe book, or any of these references (please see email).

2. Worship at Work (Tim Tang)
What is God’s purpose for our work? Is there a spiritual purpose for this secular activity? The workplace is a frontline for missions and a tool God may use to shape our character. If we are wise and faithful, our work creates opportunity to demonstrate and share the love of Christ. Since work consumes such a significant portion of our lives, we must learn to worship God while we are working.

In this class, we will learn a basic theology of work and develop practical ways to apply these concepts. We will discuss common mistakes which undermine our witness, and draw on our collective experiences to address difficult topics (e.g. office politics, ethics, IQ vs EQ, etc.).

This class will include an optional mid-week session (Wednesdays 8pm) to encourage, pray, and help each other as we seek to build God’s kingdom together.
