Overview:
Death Café was founded by Jon Underwood based on the work of Bernard Crettaz. Now there are Death Cafés all over the world. Lizzy Miles was the first person to offer Death Café in the US. Death Cafes are gatherings where people drink tea, eat cake, and openly, respectfully and confidentially exchange agenda-free perspectives about and experiences with impermanence and death. The objective of Death Café is to “increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.”
Come share what's on your mind about death and dying and have dessert.
- Coffee/tea and desserts provided, and feel free to bring contributions such as cookies.
- Arrive on time, leave when you need to.
- There is a 20 person limit for this event. This is so the conversation can be facilitated more smoothly and
more people can have the chance to speak. We are endeavoring to offer Death Cafes monthly.
- Death will be discussed in an open manner.
- Death Cafes are NOT therapy, grief support, or counseling sessions.
