Robbins Elementary has the opportunity to receive a ARP (American Rescue Plan) Grant. The purpose of the grant is to respond to the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of all students impacted by the pandemic. Below are ideas of ways we can use this money for our school. Please check the box beside the top ideas in each of the 4 areas that you feel are important to meeting the needs of our students, staff, and community. You may also include other ideas for each area.

EXTENDED LEARNING - In addition to the regular school curriculum extended day learning includes enrichment activities for students such as dance, music, art, etc.

Select the top 2 activities you would like to see implemented at our school to address learning loss due to COVID-19, and provide enrichment for our students. *

Provide summer enrichment activities for students (dance, music, art, etc.)

Provide afterschool academic and enrichment activities for students (dance, music, art, etc)

Incorporate academic and extracurricular clubs during the school day (robotics club, engineering club, etc.)

Offer a summer program for PreK students to help prepare and transition them into Kindergarten

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING NEEDS - This area addresses the social, emotional and mental health needs of students, teachers, and families due to the impact of COVID-19.

Select the top 3 activities you would like to see implemented at our school to address the social-emotional needs of students, teachers, and families caused by COVID-19. *

Create a "Calming Corners" in classrooms including fidget-friendly furniture.

Provide social-emotional learning training for teachers.

Purchase books for teachers to lead conversations about emotions and character education.

Create a student uniform closet.

Purchase needs normally paid for by charging fees (school supplies, first aid supplies, etc)

Provide a Wellness program for teachers & staff to alleviate stress and promote self-care.

FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS - This area addresses building improvements to address social distancing and sanitation challenges created by COVID-19.

Create outdoor classroom

Purchase supplies to prevent the spread of Covid such as masks, air purifiers, dividers, etc.

Install touchless/automatic water bottle refill stations to avoid use of traditional water fountains.

Create a learning lab for students with furniture that increases social distancing.

Walking trail for students, staff, and community.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING NEEDS & TEACHER RETENTION- This area includes activities to encourage teacher retention and support the professional learning needs of teachers as they work to close gaps in learning created by COVID-19.

Provide substitutes for teachers attending education conferences, workshops, and meeting.

Send faculty or staff to professional development conferences, workshops, and trainings.

Create a teacher recognition program (Teacher of the Month, STAR Teacher, etc. )

Pay teachers to participate in trainings and planning outside of normal work hours.
