CEPS Virtual Preview Week: Master’s in English for Speakers of Other Languages P-12                                     WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7, 6:00 - 7:00 PM (CST)
Join the University of South Alabama College of Education and Professional Studies Department of Leadership and Teacher Education to learn more about the fully online Traditional Master of Education (M.Ed.) in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) P-12 and the Alternative Master of Education (Alt. M.Ed.) in ESOL P-12. The alternative master's program prepares individuals who do not have a prior background or teaching certificate in education, but hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a related content field. Students in these programs learn about the latest research based principles and intensive linguistics study for advancing the fluency of English Language Learners. Topics include "Fundamentals of Teaching ESL," "Linguistic Theory and Application," "Cultural Issues of Learning English as a Second Language," "Models of ESL Instruction," "Teaching Writing Skills in English," "Advancing Reading Fluency in English," "Increasing Oral Language Skills," "Choosing Materials for Teaching English as a Second Language," and much more.

Current certified educators qualify for the USA Educator Excellence Scholarship, which equates to 20% of tuition cost each semester for six consecutive semesters.
