TRAINER - ARG Application
All prospective and current BRC Rangers must attend a training each year that they intend to Ranger on Playa to refresh their skills and receive that year’s updates. Black Rock Ranger Trainers work with their local training team to plan and organize these trainings, deliver the information in the training guide, facilitate activities, run scenarios, answer questions, and keep the training day on schedule.

Candidates should be experienced Black Rock Rangers who have at least two years’ Rangering experience on Playa and have the following qualities: a role model for other Rangers, has the ability to stay on time when presenting material, is comfortable teaching and/or presenting in front of large groups, is engaging in his/her presentation style, is eventually able to present content “off-book," can wrangle a large group and/or an over-contributing participant, has confidence in their ability to say “I don’t know” to a question from the group, is comfortable giving and receiving feedback, works well with a wide variety of other training team members, has a “not about me” attitude, and is dedicated to the health and long-term sustainability of the Ranger organization.
