The County of Hawaiʻi is developing an Integrated Climate Action Plan to identify how to address climate change causes and impacts to Hawaiʻi Island. The goal is to develop a Climate Action Plan that is grounded in equity and includes strategies that will help us stop what is causing climate change as well as survive & minimize its effects. This is the first step in a larger process to broadly engage communities, specifically vulnerable communities, in the development of this plan.
The purpose of this survey is to help the County better understand communities' points of view on climate change to inform future engagement opportunities. This survey will also give the County a better understanding of how effective outreach efforts are and where improvement is needed to ensure that perspectives of underrepresented communities are included. The next step in the planning process is to work with communities to identify values, actions, and implementation strategies that make sense for Hawaiʻi Island.
