It is well-documented that most individuals who need quality mental health care do not receive it. Moreover, deep disparities exist in access to and quality of mental health services in communities of color, sexual minority groups, and other marginalized groups, compared with privileged groups. Thus, NECOA Boston wishes to offer scholarships and reduced course fees for practitioners interested in learning evidence-based approaches who either belong to and/or work in marginalized communities.
Applicants for this scholarship or reduced fee should complete the following application as soon as possible prior to the date of the course or consultation group you wish to attend. Please keep responses concise and no more than 250 words in length. Note that we respect applicant privacy and only scholarship reviewers will have access to your information. The identity of successful applicants will never be shared publicly, however, applicants are welcome to share this information themselves if they choose to.
Two places will awarded to successful candidates in each of our courses and consultation groups.
Priority will be given to those who primarily serve marginalized, disadvantaged and minority populations, and to clinicians who are members of minority groups themselves.
Please ensure that you check that you can commit to attending the relevant dates and times prior to applying. We understand that life happens but expect all applicants to have assessed their commitment and availability prior to applying. Places are valuable and we ask that you respect other applicants but not applying this time around if you are unsure if you will be able to fully commit. You can find information here regarding dates/times here: www.
