AVID Tutor Job Description
Under direct supervision of the AVID coordinator/teacher, tutors will perform the following tasks:
Facilitate tutorial groups based on students questions from TRF forms
Evaluate student binders according to each teacher’s guidelines
Become familiar with the texts used by students
Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students
Supervise students in the library (both during the school day and after)
Encourage students to use AVID tutorial skills in their college class study groups
Communicate frequently and honestly with AVID coordinator regarding student progress and areas of concern
