I can't in good conscience make tutorials for skills that I have yet to learn myself. I operate mainly based on vibes and have little to teach that would be of any use to anyone. There are guides to writing, comics, and art that have already been written by artists more accomplished and skilled than I am. I haven't read any of them, but I would recommend seeking out those resources if you want to improve in a directed manner. Regardless, you also need to create things to improve at creating things, so you should do that at the bare minimum.

The things people like about my art are largely down to the personality presented and my commitment to the bit in spite of my shortcomings in illustration. If it's something that can be taught, I wouldn't know where to start teaching it.

I did it all for free. I don't expect payment and don't want payment.

What about the commissions? I funneled those directly into subsidizing my friend's rent in Vegas and later moving expenses after the whole Vegas thing didn't work out. For the record, that was a true story and I didn't just say I was doing it for a friend in all those commission announcements as a deflection. I didn't see a cent from any of my commissions but now someone owes me a life debt that I will one day collect.

I've spoken on the topic before, but I never wanted my income to be tied to my art or to rely on commissions in any capacity. I make more money at my actual job than I could ever expect to make from my art, even if I were to charge exorbitant rates. I value the freedom to create the things I want to in my free time more than having no real job but being required to fulfill dogshit requests from those willing to pay for them in order to make ends meet. Maybe I'd be a more proficient artist if I had no choice but dedicate more to drawing, or maybe I'd have plateaued at a level that people were willing to pay for and instead optimize my ability to create what was required of me in a timely manner. Who's to say?

This ties a bit into the last one. I consider it to be a personal failing of mine that I was unable to inspire others to enter this same niche so that I didn't have to fill it myself. Maybe such people do exist and I am just not aware of them, but then again, I did always exist on the periphery.
