61st Annual Louisiana Watermelon Festival- Parade Application

By signing this agreement, I agree to be responsible for my conduct and that of any persons  belonging to my organization or acting under my authority or supervision with me in this parade.  My associates and I shall be solely liable for any damages of any kind whatsoever resulting or arising  in any way for any participations of this entry in the Louisiana Watermelon Festival Parade, if caused  in whole or in part by me or my associates, whether such damages occur to other participants,  entries, or riders in the parade, any spectators in the parade, myself, bystanders, or to any property of  any kind. I agree to be personally responsible for any damages or harm of any kind occurring to  those people who may be riding or associated with the participation of this entry. Furthermore, I  agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Farmerville Jaycees and Louisiana Watermelon  Festival organization and the members thereof, from any liability arising from my participation in  this parade, and the participation of any other participants in this entry in the Louisiana Watermelon  Festival Parade, from any damages or harm occasioned upon any other parade participants, entries,  or riders, spectators of the parade, myself, bystanders, or any property of any kind arising from the  participation of this entry in the Louisiana Watermelon Festival Parade.


Rules and Regulations:

$25.00 registration fee before Friday, July 19, 2024 at 5 pm. The late registration fee is $35.00.  No registrations or payments will be taken on the day of the parade.  

Participants may distribute candy.  

Participants must furnish and decorate their vehicles. Four-wheelers are not allowed in the parade.  Children’s floats must be accompanied by walkers.  

Actions deemed dangerous and distasteful will result in participants being removed from the parade.  Participants must have the tag that was issued to them by the Jaycees in the FRONT RIGHT corner of  their windshield.  

Parade line up is at 8:00 am in the old Union Parish High School parking lot.  

Emergency Vehicles: lineup beside Southern Classic & old Union Parish High School.  Shriners will line up behind Emergency vehicles.  

Watermelon reigning queens/new watermelon queens: line up behind Shriners.  Visiting queens: line up in Vo-Tech parking lot.  

Baby Miss, Tiny Miss, Little Miss, and Jr. Miss Contestants: line up begins in front of Union Parish Jr.  High. Contestants must pay parade fee.  

Business/ Civic/ Church Floats: line up begins in parking lot of UPHS cafeteria.  Politicians: line up begins in parking lot of UPHS cafeteria.  

Horses: Line up begins at baseball field parking lot.
