Code in the Schools' Game Jam is a one-day event where youth 6th through 12th grades work in teams to create an original video game in less than 12 hours!

For our Tenth Annual Game Jam, students will design and code video games based on a theme announced the morning of the event. Teams have all day to work on their games and will be judged by a panel of video game professionals. All participants receive an event t-shirt and are eligible to win awesome prizes! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.

Volunteers assist Code in the Schools staff with ensuring the event runs smoothly and students have what they need to be successful! Tasks generally include supporting check-in, set-up and break-down for food and snacks, keeping teams on schedule, and supervising students as they move throughout the space.

Shift 1: 7AM - 10AM (Potential assignments include breakfast setup and breakdown, manning registration table, greeting youth, guiding youth to work stations, taking photos, etc.

Shift 2: 11:30AM - 2:30PM (Potential assignments include lunch setup and breakdown, greeting and signing in technical volunteers, taking photos, etc.)

Shift 3: 5PM - 8:30PM (Potential assignments include dinner setup and breakdown, greeting parents and judges, event clean-up)

All Day: 7AM - 8:30PM (Preferred)
