Artemis Turkey Scouting Morning
Are you a new hunter interested in talking with other women about turkey scouting, or have turkey hunted before and want to learn from other women? Join us at the UW Arboretum for a morning of gobbles (hopefully) and sharing tips on scouting tactics. We'll talk locator and turkey calls, look for turkey sign, talk turkey habitat, tips for hunt setup success, and heck, maybe we'll even see a turk or two!

We welcome women, women-identifying, and non-binary folks to join us!

Date: Saturday, April 8, 2023

Time: Meet at 5:30 AM. The time we spend together will be variable depending on how much the turkeys cooperate, but plan for an hour or two.

Location:
UW Arboretum
Meet at the main parking lot:
2880 Longenecker Drive, Madison, WI 53713

What to bring?
  • A turkey call if you have one and want to practice
  • Questions, ideas, and willingness to share what you know
  • No sitter? No problem! Kiddos are welcome to join the group.
  • Clothing suitable for the weather and walking
  • Water/snacks
Additional notes:
  • All experience levels are encouraged to join!
  • The event may include walking on uneven surfaces, and time outside with potential rain, wind, and snow.
  • If the weather looks particularly unfavorable, we will email the group to let you know our plans the night before.

It is the responsibility of all Artemis event participants to treat each other with dignity and respect at all times. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for people of every gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, ability level, physical appearance, body size, religious views, race, and ethnicity.

The National Wildlife Federation does not tolerate the harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, abuse of authority, or mistreatment of any individual.
