A study group for the Amateur Radio General license will be held ONLINE using ZOOM beginning sometime in early 2024. The class is open to the public.
While students are expected to do the bulk of their study on their own, the purpose of the study group is to answer questions that may arise during study and to encourage all students to be ready for the exam.
Book: Study material will be provided on line as links to web material. Question pool review at
http://www.hamstudy.org is recommended. The student can use any study material, but many have had good success with both the ARRL study guides and Gordon West study guides.
Fees: No class fee. There is a $15 for the exam fee payable before the exam, and a $35 fee paid to the FCC for the license itself.
Dates: TBD. Depending on the number of people taking the exam there may be multiple exams opportunities.
Location: The class will be online. For those living in SE New England, there will be an in-person exam given on at a location to be determined in Middletown RI.
