Being Involved Outside the Classroom – 9th grade, September/October
This presentation gives an overview of the holistic admissions process, detailed explanation of how commitments outside of the classroom are viewed in the application as well as recommendations on how to make the most of time outside of the classroom, and tips on how 9th graders can prepare for college applications.
Making the Most Out of the Summer – 9th, 10th, & 11th grade, January/February
This presentation gives an overview of the holistic admissions process, detailed explanation of how summer activities and commitments are viewed in the application process as well as how to find the right summer activities for you (or your child/student), and reminders of how to best prepare for college applications.
Researching & Visiting Colleges – 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, January/February
This presentation gives an overview of the holistic admissions process, demonstration of how to research colleges and make the most out of college visits to ease the college-list building and essay writing process, and reminders of how to best prepare for college applications.
Building a College List – 11th grade, April/May
This presentation demonstrates how to best build a college list. Topics include factors to consider, distinguishing fact from fiction, best resources to utilize, considering test-optional schools
Affording College – 9th, 10th, 11th grade, April/May/August/September
This presentation gives an overview of the college financial aid process. Topics covered: financial aid terminology, different types of financial aid, demonstration on how to calculate the expected family contribution, how to apply for financial aid, scholarship resources
Putting Together Your Best College Application – 11th grade, May/June/July & 12th grade, September/October
This presentation gives a detailed review of the holistic admissions process and recommendations on how an applicant can best present themselves in each part of the application
Writing College Essays – 12th grade, August/September
This presentation gives an overview of the holistic admissions process and detailed instruction on how to write personal statement and supplemental school essays
