Thank you so much for applying to volunteer as part of Hal-Con’s programming team.  Under the programming umbrella we have a variety of volunteers roles including Main Stage Crew, Programming Crew and Costume Contest Wrangler. It is the hard work and dedication of volunteers like you that makes the event possible.

While we strongly believe that your work with us should be fun (and it is!)  it also needs to be taken seriously. When you make a commitment to our team you’re making the same commitment to our guests, attendees and sponsors. You’ll represent Hal-Con and we expect you to do so with the utmost integrity as outlined in the Volunteering Rules section of the previous page. If for any reason you feel that you are unable to uphold this responsibility it is in your best interest and the best interest of Hal-Con that you carefully consider your decision and revisit this application at a time when you are confident you can.

All volunteer positions at Hal-Con are important and we do our best to ensure that roles for our applicants are chosen carefully. As such some positions within the team can require specialized skill sets that not everyone will be qualified for. Those positions may require interviews and/or additional screening before the application is considered, which we will contact you to arrange in the coming months.

Applicants MUST BE 16 years of age or older by the start of Hal-Con.

Please note: Given the nature of certain roles on this team, having 1-3 years experience working in theatre and/or customer service is an asset.
