2021 Navigator Program - Mentor Application DEADLINE HAS PASSED. NO MORE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED


The Rugby Navigator program is designed to support our 6th grade student's transition into middle school.  One of the most important pieces that make this program so successful,  is the selection of rising 8th graders who volunteer throughout their 8th grade school year to mentor the 6th grade students.  

What makes a good Mentor?  A student who can serve as a positive role model to 6th graders, and is willing to help guide them in activities throughout the school year that help address academic, social, and emotional challenges that come up in middle school.

This application is for those current 7th grade students who would like to serve as a Mentor next school year (during 8th grade). This application is due by 3:30pm on Friday MAY 7. Absolutely no late applications will be accepted.

I understand that part of being a Mentor includes being a positive role model,  being assigned to BIC and ISS for behavior or having excessive absences or tardies may prevent me from continuing as a mentor even if I am selected. *

Mentors are required to attend a 1/2 day "Mentor Training" and a full day "6th Grade Orientation". The Mentor Training will prepare mentors to lead their group of 6th grade students through the Orientation Day’s activities. These dates have not been determined at this time, but typically take place the week before school. I will check my email throughout the summer and will add these dates to my calendar once they are determined. *
