In order to encourage resource managers to participate in the biennial International Conference on Harmful Algae (ICHA), the U.S. National Office for Harmful Algal Blooms is happy to announce awards to cover registration costs for ICHA2021 Mexico. Funding for this program is provided by NOAA and eligibility is restricted to state and tribal managers working in the U.S. to mitigate HAB impacts on water quality, drinking water, and seafood.
Priority will be given to individuals who have never received a travel award from the US National HAB Office. Please note that if you are selected to receive an award, you will still need to apply for ISSHA membership ($50 for two years) prior to registering for the conference. This is a separate fee that will not be covered through this awards program. You can apply for membership here:
https://issha.org/members-community/become-a-member/.
The deadline for receipt of applications will be June 4, 2021. Decisions will be announced by June 30, 2021.
***Note that federal employees are not eligible to receive awards through this program.***
