Dear Participant,
We invite you to participate in a research study about the potential use of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool designed to enhance the User Experience (UX) of Linux distributions using Open-Source Information (OSI). Although this study has implications for Linux in general, our primary case study will focus on the Arch Linux distribution, using specific resources such as the public Arch Forums, Arch Wiki, the Arch Linux Main and Arch User Software Repository (AUR). This study is being conducted to understand the needs, preferences, and concerns of Linux users, with a particular emphasis on those of Arch Linux users.
Purpose of the study
The aim of this survey is to gather information about the potential use of a terminal user interface (TUI) based AI assistant tool, specifically designed for Arch Linux. The AI
assistant tool is intended to provide answers to questions related to Arch Linux using open-source information, recommend software packages, and interact with the user's system to perform certain tasks based on the user's request and permission.
Procedure of the study
Participants will be asked to complete a survey consisting of 15 questions. The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
Confidentiality
Your responses will be kept confidential and will be used only for the purposes of this study. The data collected from this study may be used in reports, presentations, and publications, but any such uses will be anonymous.
Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary and anonymous. You may refuse to participate or withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences.
Risks and Benefits
There are no known risks associated with this study. The benefit of your participation is that it will help us understand the needs and preferences of Linux users, with a primary focus on Arch Linux, which will aid in the development of the proposed Artificial Intelligence Assistant tool and research.
Thank you for your participation!
