Role Description: A Youth Advisor will provide valuable insights and advice from the unique perspective as a Main Cast member. A Youth Advisor will contribute to and influence the direction and strategic planning for OKTC (including Main Cast, Camp OK and Kidlets). A Youth Advisor will learn about governance, advocacy, community engagement, policy and program development, among other leadership skills.
Scope and Time Commitment:
Youth Advisor is a one-year volunteer appointment commencing at the Annual General Meeting (Date TBA, held in June)
Required: attendance at all regular Board meetings 6:30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for 1.5-2 hours at the OKTC Business Office. Note: a Youth Advisor does not normally attend in-camera portions of meetings (advanced notice will be provided).
Optional (but encouraged!): attendance at other OKTC Board-related meetings or activites related to strategic planning, policy development, events or fundraising.
**Hours spent on OKTC Board-related business are eligible for High School Community Service hours**
Eligibility:
- Must be current member of the Main Cast of Original Kids Theatre Company
- Must be a full-time elementary or high school student (Please note: OKTC alumni/recent grads are invited to apply separately to the Board of Directors)

Note: Prior to appointment to the Youth Advisor role, the successful applicants must receive approval by the OKTC Executive and Artistic Directors.
