Tiny News Community Canvas Survey
This is a form to help me (Joshua Vissers) in my application to the Tiny News Collective, which is designed to be a springboard for new, place-based journalism outlets. They would provide the support a small newsroom needs to become established, and then "graduate" the outlet to independence once it was ready.

What (geographic) community are you a part of? *
People count themselves as part of different communities for different reasons, and that's actually good. If you had to say you were part of just one, geographically-bound community, would it be your city or village? Your township or county? Your state, or your block maybe? As part of this question, I'd like to know not just whereabouts you might be from, but also how you define the boundaries of that place.
What other communities are you a part of? *
This is in a non-geographic sense. For instance, I'm a part of the journalist community, as evidenced by connections on Twitter, my Michigan Press Association membership, and my daily occupation. You don't have to justify what constitutes membership like I just did, but what communities do you count yourself among?
What challenges are keeping you or your community from thriving? *
This can be either geographic or non-geographic communities, but please specify what community you're referring to.
What information would help the community to meet those challenges? *
What information do the majority of people in your community need that they don't have now? *
Again, please specify what community you're referring to.
How badly does your community need that information? *
Just curious
Urgently need it

How should a news source gather revenue? *
Required
