Sexton is offering a six-hour intensive SAT course to prepare your student for the SAT. This four-night workshop is designed to give your student a complete overview of all sections of the SAT. By participating in this course, students will become familiar with SAT strategies and improve their knowledge of the most commonly tested topics. From Vocabulary-in-Context to Punctuation to Exponent Rules, all of the most important topics on the test will be addressed. The skills and tips learned during this intensive workshop will provide a strong foundation for your student’s SAT preparation, whether your student is a newcomer to the SAT or wants a review of the major topics.
This workshop will prepare students (intensive introduction or comprehensive review) for the August 28th SAT exam. The workshop can also be used as a great way to jump start your preparation for a future exam date.
Location: All sessions will be held via Zoom. Participation will require the use of a computer and access to the internet.
Teacher:
Ricardo grew up in LA County California and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at UC Santa Barbara, where he served as a learning assistant for undergraduates, a teaching assistant at Santa Barbara high school, a lead chemist in the Gaulin research group, and even wrote a book on Chicano culture. After graduating, he moved to Boston to begin a teaching career with Teach For America at Boston Collegiate Charter School, serving as the lead chemistry teacher of one of the top charter schools in Massachusetts. While earning his teaching license, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Boston University. Ricardo has learned and practiced several strategies for supporting and empowering students from diverse backgrounds, students with disabilities, and emerging bilingualists to be proficient and independent learners. As a tutor, he specializes in teaching math, science, ACT, and SAT. Currently, he is attaining a Master of Science degree in Food Nutrition Policy and Programs at Tufts University. In his free time, Ricardo enjoys reading, writing, practicing martial arts, hiking, playing bass, cooking, and volunteering at various nonprofits in Boston.
