2019 Odyssey Talent Show Participation Form
WHAT IS THE ODYSSEY TALENT SHOW?
The Odyssey Talent Show is a fun event where students perform a variety of acts. Some students choose to perform alone while others perform in groups. Both are welcome. Last year our show had 36 acts made up of 67 Odyssey students from all grade levels.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All students grades K-8 are encouraged to participate.

WHAT KINDS OF ACTS HAVE PERFORMED IN PAST SHOWS?
Irish Dancing, Piano, Break Dancing, Singing, Gymnastics, Violin, Stand-up Comedy, Hoola-Hooping, Guitar, Poems, Acting, Taekwondo, Flute, Jump Roping, Kendama Tricks, Tap Dancing, Skits, Miming, Trumpet and Banjo.

WHEN ARE THE PERFORMANCES?
The shows will take place on Friday, October 18 at 12:30pm and 6pm. In addition to the shows, all acts are required to attend one of the two dress rehearsal days on either Wednesday, October 16 or Thursday, October 17.

WHAT ARE THE ACT REQUIREMENTS?
Acts must be under TWO minutes. You’re welcome to edit your own music to two minutes. If you choose not to edit your music we will stop the song at two minutes. Students may only be in one act.

HOW DOES MY STUDENT SIGN UP?
To participate complete the participation form below by Sunday, September 29.  Each participant must complete their own participation form. Students participating with background music must email the song or a link to the song online to Rebecca by October 1st.

HOW DO ACTS GET PICKED?
All students who wish to participate are invited to perform in the show. No act is too small or too big. Show us your stuff day is not a try out. It simply allows your student to perform their act in front of the coordinators to confirm the length and content is show ready! This year the show us your stuff day is during school on Friday, October 4. We’ll have parent volunteers shuttle the students to and from the classrooms.

DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS OR DOES THE SHOW RUN ITSELF?
Yes, yes we do need volunteers! We don’t have the show running on robot power just yet. There are several ways to lend a hand. I will include a list of volunteer needs in my participation emails.

So have your student pick out a costume, choose a talent, tune up their instruments, warm up their voices and get ready for some fun!
