An inquiry into the impact of COVID-19 on Marital Relations
You are invited to participate in a research study led by Sanjana Nair and Tanya Gupta at Nolmë Labs, India.  Please read the following information carefully before volunteering to participate in this study.
 
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY AND WHAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO DO
The purpose of this research is to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on your marital relationship. If you choose to participate, you will be required to complete a short demographics form and a questionnaire assessing various aspects of yourself and your marital relationship. Based on your responses on these scales, you may be selected for an interview with the researcher about the effect of the pandemic on your relationship in terms of the conflicts that may have arisen, the level of conflict, and various coping strategies adopted by you and your spouse to deal with the same. The entire form will take approximately 25 minutes to fill.The interview will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour and will be digitally audio-recorded to be transcribed later.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
This study is looking for participants who are married.

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
Your participation in this research is voluntary. If you would like to withdraw from the study at any stage, you can simply stop answering questions without any clarification or penalty

CONFIDENTIALITY
The information that you provide to me will be kept confidential. The only exception is if we learn of possible danger to you or others. This consent form that contains your name, along with the audio files and transcripts of the recorded interview will be stored on a password-protected file on our computers. Once the data analysis is complete, the audio files will be permanently deleted. Consent forms, demographic forms, and transcripts will be stored for the duration of 3 years or longer if published.

BENEFITS
The findings of this study will contribute to building knowledge and to building intervention models so as to successfully work through the negative ramifications of the pandemic and to find out positive factors that help in doing so.
 
RISKS
Participation in this research does not entail risks beyond what one experiences in everyday life. For some participants, reflecting on relationship conflict may lead to emotional discomfort. If this happens, feel free to take a break, talk to the interviewer during or after the interview, or you may stop answering questions. Please note that the last page of this form provides a list of mental health resources.
