About Dragon Boating:
Dragon boating originated more than 2000 years ago in China. Unlike rowing, dragon boaters sit in two rows facing forward and use use paddles to propel the long, narrow canoe-like boat. Often, a drummer sits at the front of the boat and a steersperson navigates the back of the boat. For competitions and special occasions, a carved dragon head and tail are added to the boat.
Meet Your Coach:
Coach Netshari loves all water sports and has been an active member of Holyoke Rows for almost 10 years. In 2019, she joined the Veterans Dragon Boat USA team and has recently completed her level 1 coaching training with the United States Dragon Boat Federation. We so fortunate to have her as part of this program, and know you'll think so too!
