Call for submissions:                                Workshops and technical sessions                          Closing on September 25th
You would like to present at the UR West and Central Africa? You can propose to run a Workshop or to be a speaker during a Technical Session. You can also propose yourself as a technical session lead. For all formats, we are open to unconventional, creative and interactive approaches!

Different Roles:

Technical session lead:
As such, you will be responsible to ensure 3 or 4 speakers to participate and someone (you or someone else) who could facilitate the session. Your own physical participation is not required to be a technical session lead – of course we’ll be excited if you can come!
You’ll be the main person of contact for the session. If you do not have enough speakers for your session, the UR-Team will direct potential speakers with short interventions to you that fit in your session.

Technical session – non lead: You submit your content and the UR-Team will coordinate which technical session your content will fit in. The session lead will be in touch with you then, to include your content in the appropriate session. Please indicate the duration of your planned intervention.

Workshop lead:
If you propose a Workshop, we assume that you’ll facilitate it. Please select technical session lead in the registration form.

Formats:

Workshops:
• Wednesday 20 of November 2019 (in the morning)
• Duration : 1,5 hours or 3 hours
• Content : generally a workshop will allow participants to explore in depth one specific subject with one main speaker.
• Your Role : your role will be to provide the content and facilitate the workshop. This can be done alone or as part of a team. The content can be innovative and interactive with diverse objectives.

Technical sessions:
• Technical sessions will be held on Wednesday 20 afternoon, Thursday 21 or Friday 22 of November.
• Duration : 1,5 hours
• Content : generally, 3 or 4 speakers are invited to give a brief presentation of 10-15 minutes on a given subject. After the presentations, a Question & Answers session allows participants to interact with the presenters. Interventions of all scopes are welcome, as the Understanding Risk Conference will mix and match the content until fit!
• Your role: you can either facilitate the technical session or provide an intervention, such as a presentation or input appropriate to the schedule. Possible as individual or team.
• Moderated by the Technical Session Lead or someone nominated by him/her.

If you are interested, please fill in the form below.
If you want to propose a Workshop plus a Technical Session, you can fill in several forms.
