We are thrilled to announce the second annual Literary Nasties award ballot, a unique opportunity to recognize and award amazing and original works of "Misfit" and "Cult" fiction. This special award will be open to all authors of fiction who write stories that are unconventional. Stories often told by authors who are not widely recognized in their respective genres. Every year, we will choose one recipient in each category to receive the Literary Nasties award and be honored for their creative and daring works of fiction*.

Please only send works that were published between January 1st and December 31st 2023!
These “esteemed” awards will be presented by Rebecca Rowland and Filthy Loot. These awards are a way of recognizing and honoring the authors who have been nominated by YOU, the illuminated ones, the reading public! It is a special way of showing appreciation for the hard work and dedication of these authors, and for the stories they have so carefully crafted for our enjoyment. It is a way of thanking these authors for the hours of entertainment and enlightenment that their works have given us.
Categories:
Long Fiction: Books and stories that are over 15k words.
Short Fiction: Anything smaller than above.
Collection/Anthologies: Collected works of any length.
These awards, which span across multiple genres, will not be limited by one specific type of work. However, those works that are transgressive, horror-filled, or have an inexplicable edge to them are requested in the nomination process.
One vote per category, per individual. Attempts to thwart this simple rule may result in disqualification of nominated work(s). Please vote for more than one category!
Nominations begin March 26th and will end April 27th. Awards will be announced in early May.
Winners will receive a nice little plaque to put up in their office, isn't that cute?
*While we're not limiting these to a specific genre. Works of Horror, Transgressive Fiction, Indie Lit are highly encouraged.
