ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Teaching writing poses challenges for there’s no “one best way.” And unlike math, there’s no one right answer.  Students frequently complain that they have nothing to write about or have trouble getting started. In this session, participants will learn how mimicking authors of children’s books can help students launch their essays. By noting what the experts do, developing writers will have go-to strategies that will stay with them. Instead of being dependent on someone else (the teacher) for help, they’ll become more independent writers.
