Honors Achievement Award (HAA) Application 
General Information:
  • You must have a cumulative GPA at BOTH the start and end of the semester that is 3.25 or higher
  • Your scholarship amount depends on the number of credits completed:
    •     0-5 credits earns $0
    •     6-8 credits earns $244
    •     9-11 credits earns $325
    •     12+ credits earns $500
  • You do not get the money until the semester ends.
  • If your cumulative GPA drops below 3.25+, you can no longer earn the scholarship money, but you can still take a course for Honors credit and get the honors designation on your transcript.  
  •  Submission Deadline: August 1st for the fall semester, and January 1st for the spring semester 
Requirements:
  • Have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and be in good standing with the Maricopa County Community College District 
  • Have already completed 12 credits of 100 level or above coursework prior to the semester that you are planning on  participating in the Honors Program
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
  • You must take 1 course for Honors credit; it can be any class that is 3+ credits at the 100+ level. (Be sure to have a second choice as occasionally for various reasons a teacher is unable to offer their course for honors credit.)
  • You may take more than 1 honors course if you wish.
  • You must complete 1 co-curricular activity per semester and submit your reflection to Canvas. (See module on co-curricular activities for detailed information)
  • Show eligibility for in-state tuition
