Thank you for coming along here. This is a page for story requests. I will collect the requests as they arrive and record a 5 to 15 minute story based on the information you provide below. But please read a bit about this project before you set off to see if it will be a good match.

WHAT - A Personalized story for a child
- This page is for requesting a personalized story. However - The story will be published for all children to enjoy.
- There is no promise that the story will be made. Depending on numbers and time.
- I will take the information provided below and create a personalized story of at least 5 minutes in length. No jingles, no chimes; just my voice.
- The idea is that the child listens to the story and experiences 'wonder' as he hears a stranger (in the nicest sense) telling a story that triggers curiosity, interest, imagination, leads to active listening and even further conversation with loved ones. It gets parents to take time out too and think about their child for a few minutes and what they are all about as a person. Believe me - it is surprising how fast children change and how their likes, dislikes, fears, hopes and dreams, best friends, favorite foods and colors and a whole lot more change within a few weeks or months.

When I get a request that I will simply make a mental note of the details and step into a quiet-ish place for 15 minutes and hit record - no pre-planned script. Just free flow.

I can send you the  mp3 file over email first and if you have a deadline and I send it before then, I will post it to the podcast after the deadline date.

WHY?
I have been telling my girls stories for over 7 years now and they can't get enough of it. Now I have a 3rd and also several nieces and nephews under round a similar age, I really would like to venture deeper into the art of storytelling that sparks imagination in young children's minds. The idea of recording stories for my kids has been in my mind for years and I am really excited about the idea that my grandchildren will be listening to the exact same voice as their mum or dad did when they were growing up!

In a world full of tech, I just want my children to enjoy the experience of listening to voice, and making pictures in their minds. As an educator I have come to notice that the inability to picture things in the mind can add struggle to young children as they go through school.

I would like my children to have the huge joy of imagination.

This podcast is for kids SO -  there will be no fancy jingles, no long intros, no ads. Just a story that starts "Once upon a time...

There will be:
- Story title
- Author Name
- Shout out to requester (if wanted)
- Possibly a few seconds of what the story is about or recap on previous story in episode.
- Possibly a question or two to create 'active listening' such as "As you listen, think about why/how/who... This could facilitate family/friendly discussions afterwards.



HOW
Please fill-out as much information as you feel comfortable with. PLEASE DO NOT enter sensitive info like family names or birthdays or things you wish to be kept private.
- A maximum of around 3 pieces of information would be a good start plus a genre and possible theme.
