NMED Application for Internship 
Thank you for your interest in our 2023-2024 Katharsis Media Internships with The New Mexico Education Channel. 

We currently offer 3 types of internships: 

Phase 1 & 2 Internships: Certificate Training Programs--tuition based ($2700 per phase) for high school juniors and seniors as well as adults entering the film industry. Scholarships are available for qualifying students. 

Phase 2 interns are sponsored by various organizations, so there is no tuition requirement. Limited slots available. To be eligible to apply, potential interns have one of the following: 
  • have Phase 1 certification from Katharsis Media
  • be within 1 semester of graduating at an eligible post-secondary institution
  • have submitted and been accepted to the IATSE 480 overflow list (depending on qualifying experience)

Phase 2 and 3 internships are paid and competitive. 

Phase 3 Internships: Professional paid and unpaid internships for those who are eligible.
To be eligible potential interns have one of the following: 
  • have Phase 1 & 2 certifications from Katharsis Media
  • have completed a film certificate program at an eligible post-secondary institution 
  • have submitted and been accepted to the IATSE 480 overflow list (depending on qualifying experience)

Application Deadlines:  
Fall 2023:  July 31, 2023 at 5pm.  
Spring 2024:  December 10, 2023 at 5pm.
Summer Internships: April 1, 2024 at 5pm.

Please discuss with your  school counselor /advisor if you have questions regarding elective credit at your school.

Monday evenings, from 4pm-8pm, our interns participate in our Filmmaker's Club. Are you available during these times?  *
