Screamathon 2021
Screamathon is back for it's 5th year!! As you may already know, I like to switch things up every once in a while. This year, I'm adding a Weekly Prompt mini-challenge, with that information below.

#Screamathon is a very casual reading challenge that I started a few years ago because I wanted to share my love of all things Halloween! You can participate as much or as little as you would like. The only requirements for the challenge are:
1. Sometime before October 1, post your TBR stack or list. The following genres all count, and you can bend these as much as you want for a book to fit: horror, witchy books, paranormal/supernatural, mysteries, psychological thrillers, mythological creatures, etc etc.
2. Every time you read a book for the challenge, post a review with #Screamathon and tag me, @4thhouseontheleft
3. Follow the hashtag to talk about all things Halloween reading related with other participants!

That's it!

Now, for the fun optional extras. There will be a giveaway this year! I will have a drawing at the end of month, and the winner will receive a $25 gift card to the indie bookshop of their choice (I have to be able to purchase the GC online). Here is how you can enter the drawing:
1. Every book read for the challenge gets you 1 entry.
2. If you participate in the weekly prompts, you get 10 extra entries each week.
3. More entries will be available during Halloween weekend.

Weekly prompts, you say? YES! This is new this year. Each week has a themed prompt. If you complete the prompt, you will receive 10 extra entries into the raffle. I'm providing the prompts now to give you plenty of time to plan. You DO NOT have to participate in the prompts if you don't want to, this is completely optional.

Week 1: Scare Pairs
Read the book, watch the movie

Week 2: Diversify your Horror Shelf
Read one horror book by a female author of color

Week 3: Hocus Pocus!
Read a book with Witch in the Title.

Week 4: Costume Week!
Dress up as a character from a spooky book and take a selfie with the book along with your book review.

Halloween Weekend: #Screamathon Readathon Weekend! More information coming soon.

At the end of each week, I will tag all participants in a post that will have a Google Form where you can self-report how many entries you have earned that week. This is on the honor system, I will not be tracking everyone's reading and participation. The drawing at the end of the month will be a random number raffle, but obviously, the more you participate, the more chances you have to win!

Sign up below! And I look forward to spending a very spooky October with you!
