Hurricane Sandy 10 Year Anniversary:          A series of commemoration events       (October 22, 2022 to October 29, 2022)
As we approach the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, it creates an opportunity to prepare, reflect, and honor those we’ve lost and whose lives were greatly affected. In commemoration of the anniversary our focus is on Preparing for a Resilient Future and advocating for the necessary infrastructure investments to support a resilient Southeast Queens. In recognizing that the entire Rockaway Peninsula, along with parts of the Southeast Queens mainland, was greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy, we’re calling for a unified front to ensure equitable infrastructure investments and coordinated preparation to protect our community.
