This questionnaire is intended as a tool to help researchers affiliated with Stockholm University determine whether or not they need to obtain approval from the Swedish Ethical Review Authority in accordance with the Ethical Review Act (2003:460). Your answers will not be saved and you can move back and forward in the form and make changes as needed.

Please note that many of the questions can be difficult to answer with certainty, partly because they refer to some quite tricky notions, but also because it may be difficult to know in advance exactly how a research project will develop. The result of filling out the questionnaire should merely be regarded as an indication based on the answers you have provided. If you are the least bit unsure about the questions or the result, you should get in touch with the Office for Research, Engagement and Innovation Services (REIS), which offers qualified support regarding research ethics (in collaboration with the university's legal counsels when required).
