NEW MEMBER MARCHING CLINICS 2024

WHO:

These clinics are for Brass & Woodwinds students who will be new to marching band this coming season (primarily current 8th graders).

WHAT:

Students know how to play their instrument from several years of practice. However, no one has ever had to march before! To help our new brass & woodwind students, these clinics will focus on the marching aspect. We will learn physical warm ups, stretches, strength exercises, and marching techniques. This will help them as they transition into the first Full Band experience at Mini Camp. Students are encouraged to attend all three sessions if possible.

WHEN & WHERE:

Monday, April 29, 7:00-8:30pm, MMS Aux Gym

Tuesday, May 7, 7:00-8:30pm, MMS Aux Gym

Wednesday, May 22, 7:00-8:30pm, MMS Aux Gym

Drop off and enter through the MMS Performing Arts doors and proceed to the MMS Aux Gym.

Pick up will be the same location: MMS Performing Arts doors.

THINGS TO BRING:

  • Students will want to wear athletic clothing that they can move well in. Shorts and a t-shirt is an example. Gym shoes also are required (no sandals, Crocs, high top shoes).

  • Water Bottle

  • Students do not need to bring their instruments.
