Lifting up the Human Spirit: Arts Education for Classroom and Community Educators in 2021

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Professional Development Summer Institute will explore how the arts function as a transformative tool for healing and education in a world facing the multiple pandemics of COVID-19 and social injustices.
Three major themes will be covered by the keynote speakers:
*Radically Changing Education through Culturally Relevant Education & the Arts
*Social & Emotional Learning and Trauma-Informed Teaching for Liberation
*Incorporating Indigenous Perspectives in a Department of Education
There will be two tracks to support integration and application of the content for *Classroom Teachers & *Community Teaching Artists.
Registration and payment must occur through the MACC website to save your spot. PDE3 is expected to be approved/available for sign up by May 30th, 2021.
Dates: June 25, 26, 27, 2021
Fee $195 for Classroom Teachers working full time in a school.
Fee is $75 for Community Teaching Artists/contract workers.
