AI in Biomedical Informatics | Women in Health Series
This is the first event as part of Women in Health Series. Please fill in the form below if you'd like to sign up prior to the event.
Date and Time: 5 February (Friday), 5-6 pm GMT
Speaker: Dr. Maha Farhat, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics, Harvard Medical School
Title of the talk: Machine learning to predict antibiotic resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis
The accurate prediction of antibiotic resistance phenotypes and treatment response from pathogen sequence data is challenged by diversity of molecular resistance mechanisms. In this lecture, I will discuss data and statistical considerations that have helped improve resistance accuracy and discuss remaining gaps, as well as the need for translational research including clinical trials to help improve the adoption of ML as a resistance diagnostic.
You will receive the zoom link to the event after you complete your registration, and an email a few days before the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
