Nana is going on One-Year Missions!
Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you well!  I wanted to update you about one of the ways God has been working in my life this year. As many of you know, I will be graduating this coming May from the University of Pennsylvania. I’m excited to share that after graduation, I’ll be going to Over-the-Rhine in Cincinnati, Ohio to serve as a missions intern for one year!

My journey to this decision began in November 2017, when God called me to go on a short-term missions trip to Over-the-Rhine (OTR). As I prepared for my trip, God began nudging me to stop hiding in the background and step out in faith, letting Him fulfill His purposes in me. I was terrified of what that meant, so I adamantly declared that God shouldn’t tell me to do 1 year missions. But God didn’t let me go that easily. One after another after another, he brought people into my path that summer to share testimonies of God’s faithfulness to them when they answered His call. By the end of my missions trip, I couldn’t deny that God was inviting me into something greater, so I began to pray about it.

In the midst of my wrestling with this invitation, God showed me that my fear was ultimately rooted in a distrust of Him and His character. I didn’t believe that His intentions and His plans for me were good. Long-term missions seemed risky and unsafe, something only “Super Christians” could do, and I felt so unqualified. Yet, the more I prayed about it, the more I realized that God wasn’t calling me out of my comfort zone just to make my life miserable. He was giving me a precious opportunity to spend a year seeking him and participating in His work, and His strength was more than enough to overcome my weaknesses. He opened the door for me to return to OTR, and after many months of prayer, I said yes to His call!

As I begin preparing for this Jesus-led adventure, I know that I won’t be able to do it without your prayers and support. It truly takes the whole body of Christ to bring the kingdom of God to the ends of the Earth, and Cincinnati is no exception. If you would like to partner with me, either financially or in prayer, please fill out the form below! I will be sending out more information about the internship shortly, as well as regular update letters throughout the next year so that you can see how God is moving in me and in OTR.

Thank you for taking the time to read about what God’s been doing in my life! I’m so grateful for the supportive community that God has given me, and I can’t wait to share this next season of life with you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via text, email, or Facebook messenger (or write them in the space below!). Let me know how you’re doing as well! I’d love to know how I can be praying for you.

In Christ,
Nana
