Twin City Mission programs address: homelessness, violence and abuse, family conflict, youth in crisis, life skills deficiencies and poverty. Volunteers are needed for a variety of support services.

Community Café – The Community Café provides 3 meals a day to residents of the Doug Weedon Shelter for Hope. Additionally, the cafe offers one hot meal a day to anyone in the community, either lunch or dinner. Volunteers can help serve food to clients and community members, providing comfort and nourishment to those in need. *Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older, and volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.* Volunteer opportunities are on weekdays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm (Lunch) and 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Dinner)

Community Closet – The Twin City Mission Community Closet provides clothes and/or household items (when available) to individuals and families in the community at no charge to assist them in gaining and/or maintaining self-sufficiency. We are seeking volunteers to help in the community closet with cleaning, organizing, sorting clothing, and helping clients “shop.” *Volunteers must 18 years + and be able to bend down to pick up objects, and help sweep and clean the location.* Volunteer opportunities are on Mondays and Friday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Donation and Resale Services – Twin City Mission operates 4 resale stores in the Brazos Valley: Second Chance 1 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway) Second Chance 2 (Old College Road) Alice’s Attic (downtown Bryan), and Second Chance 3 (Navasota). The resale stores offer low cost clothing, housewares, furniture, books and kitchen items to the general public. All items are donated from the community and ALL proceeds generated benefit Twin City Mission’s clients. Volunteers will assist store managers with bringing out new items, keeping the store clean, helping clients and assisting with other needs like bringing in large donations as able. Volunteer Opportunities for the various store locations are from Monday - Saturday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Youth and Family Services – The Youth and Family Services STAR Program provides short-term, solution-focused services to kids ages 0-17 and their families. This includes strengthening family relationships, improving family communication, increasing positive interactions and developing skills for coping with problems, stress and grief. Tasks would include answering phones, greeting guests and clients, assisting with paperwork and helping with other needs as able. *Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and complete a criminal background check including fingerprinting.* Volunteers would help with administrative functions Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
