This is a public survey for Australian Teachers of children aged 4 to 17 years, which forms part of the research for a documentary film and set of educational resources for Australians - the purpose of the resources is to help teachers and parents address concerns about social media, device, and internet addictions, as well as cyber bullying and mental health issues for young Australians. Additionally, to build awareness of the current privacy and health dangers for Australian families. By voluntarily participating in this survey, you give permission for the information submitted to be collated and presented to the public in the form of statistics and percentages through infographics and data tables. No personal information, or information indicating the identity of survey participants, will ever be released to the public at any time.

If you are an Australian parent (children aged 12 months - 17 years) please go back and follow the link to the Parent Survey.

Please answer these questions as accurately and honestly as possible, taking into account your observations over the last 2-5 years. Responses are completely anonymous, however if you would like to be included in the discussion focus groups in future, or have particular interest in gaining early access to the film/s or resources, please add your contact details where requested once you have submitted this form and are redirected to a separate contact details form. Contact details and responses will not be stored together.

Your feedback and responses are an important part of helping Australian schools and families become digitally safer, and your time is greatly appreciated.

A note from the Writer and Director, Celese Heward.

Firstly, thank you for kindly taking the time to participate in this survey! Your responses will be of enormous help when developing the film/s and resources dedicated to addressing these issues to help our families and young people of Australia.
My vision for this project is to;
- reveal the reasons behind social media and device addiction
- inspire a change empowering both intelligent and redesigned interactions with technology,
- increasing awareness of the vital importance of creating strong parent-child relationships, and
- helping as many people as possible who’ve been effected by cyberbullying, device addiction, social media obsession, or device - related anxiety or depression, to live a happier life!
I’d love it if you could join me on this journey and after submitting your responses, share the survey with other Teachers you know, get in contact via the website, and be part of the change! Thank you!
