Food, Faculty, and the Future Event RSVP
Wondering how to get involved with research? The transition from college to industry? What a career in academia looks like? Join us for an evening of candid conversations with a panel of distinguished female professors and researchers at Georgia Tech! The panel will cover topics ranging from industry insights to research and academia. Following the panel, dinner will be provided to give a chance for further discussion and networking!

Panelists
-Dr. Shaowen Bardzell is a Chair and Professor at Georgia Tech's School of Interactive Computing, known for her humanistic research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and contributions to feminism, design, and social science in technology for social change, with previous roles at Penn State and Indiana University, and leadership positions in ACM SIGCHI.
-Dr. Lily Cheung is an Assistant Professor and Roy C. and Polly B. Sheffield Faculty Fellow at Georgia Tech, specializing in genetically encoded biosensors, fluorescence microscopy, computational models of gene regulatory networks, and plant developmental biology, with a focus on applying quantitative techniques and mathematical modeling to understand plant physiology and development.  
-Dr. Carrie Shepler earned her Ph.D. in environmental radiochemistry from Washington State University and then turned her attention to chemical education as a teaching post-doctoral fellow. She came to Tech in 2008 as the undergraduate program coordinator for the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and she transitioned to her position in the freshman chemistry program in January 2011. Dr. Shepler regularly teaches CHEM 1212K in Fall semesters.
-Dr. Akanksha Menonan Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech's Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, specializes in thermal science and functional materials for sustainable energy and water technologies, focusing on solar desalination, energy storage, energy-efficient buildings, and heat recovery, with prior research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech.
