Dear SILVER DIVISION Relic:

The Board and SILVER Internal Committee (IC) has been asked to explore the possibility of having an "outside" Umpire at each Silver game next year (2023). An "outside" Umpire would not be one of our own volunteers, but a credentialed Ump who would get paid to preside over the games.

Those advocating for this change believe:

1. The quality of the "calls" would improve / the Ump would make a higher percentage of "correct" play calls

2. That any favoritism that might have existed via using our "own" Umps would be eliminated

3. The issue of lack of volunteer Umps from among our own league members would be solved

4. There would be less "squawking", arguing, and hard feelings

Based on the number of games played each year; the number of players registered in the Silver Division; and the pay-rate of the Umps we have determined that in order to fund this change, the annual registration fee for Silver Players would need to be set near $115.
