Event Descriptions

Detroit College Day (3/20/2020) - An event to expose and excite high school students about options after high school

Middle School Detroit College Day (5/22/2020) - Mirroring Detroit College Day, this event is for middle school students exposing students to higher education and career options.

College Decision/Signing Days (April-May 2020) - National campaign encouraging schools to host events to celebrate all graduating seniors with post graduation plans (similar to athletic signing days).

College 101 Presentations (Year Long) - Presented to middle and high school students educating them about college preparation. Presentations are developed, training provided.

Financial Aid Support (October 2019-May 2020) Supporting schools with helping students complete the FAFSA application. Do not have to be an expert. Training provided.

Volunteer Preferences

Presenter- Interest in working w/ a group of students by administering a presentation developed by DCAN (Training Provided)

Speaker- Interest in working w/ a group of students by developing a presentation and activities on topics relevant to college access and success

Logistics- Set-up and/or breakdown of events, registration table support, session moderators, etc.
