Our childcare system is broken due to years of underfunding. Families cannot afford the tuition required to keep childcare businesses afloat, and providers cannot stay in the field without making intense financial sacrifices, leading to providers shutting down. We need billions of dollars to move towards the sustainable, thriving childcare system our communities deserve!
There is a $5 billion surplus in our state budget this year, and we know at least half of that money needs to be put towards better wages, benefits, and more equitable, affordable childcare for every family across the state. Together we can make this a reality.
