We are excited for this super-fun backpacking trip! We are sure to see lots of fall colors and have a great time!
WHEN: Departure - morning, Saturday, October 15 (actual time TBD at meeting on October 5). Return - Sunday, October 16, afternoon.
WHERE:
We will meet at St. James UMC and then carpool together to Clingmans Dome.
COST:
The cost of the trip is $30 and includes lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please bring money for a possible fast food stop on the way home on Sunday. (Driving adult leaders are free.)
WHAT TO BRING:
This is a backpacking trip. So, you will need backpacking basics. You can check out this handy packing list (
https://troop370atlanta.org/documents/Harry%20Packing%20List.pdf) to serve as a guide, but please ask questions if this is your first backpacking trip with us. We have tents, backpacks, and other gear you can borrow, if needed. Just ask. We are also hosting a backpacking shakedown & question session at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, October 5, @ 7:30 PM @ St. James UMC.
CAMPOUT PLANNING:
We will plan the details of our camping trip at the Venturing Crew meeting on Wednesday, October 5, after our games. 7:30 - backpacking shakedown for newer backpackers. 8:00 - games followed by campout planning.
NOTES:
Try to register as soon as you can. This is a great trip to bring a friend along!
