Planning for School Reopening - Parent/Caregiver Intent
As our community approaches the Reopening of Schools with the Covid-19 Pandemic, we recognize this is challenging for families as they make plans for their own children. Our RSU 12 Reopening Plan for this fall maximizes in-person, on-site learning as much as possible.
Parents will have two choices/options for their children in RSU 12 Schools this fall:
OPTION 1: Your student(s) will attend in-person teaching and learning to the fullest extent possible; and parents will know that there is a high degree of likelihood that our schools will transition between PLANS A, B, C, depending on guidance from the Maine DOE and/or Maine CDC.
OPTION 2: Students will attend school through a remote distance-learning full online option. Families choosing this option must commit to this option until at least January 2, 2021. At that point, you could change to OPTION 1 if you wish.
This form is the first step of our planning process. It would be helpful to know parents/caregiver's current intentions, understanding that they may change as we get closer to the start of the year. Knowing how many parents plan to utilize Option 2 (remote distance-learning full online option) will help us plan for staffing and teacher assignments. Therefore, it is very important to know the approximate number of students that will be served through this format.
If parents/caregivers have multiple children in RSU 12, then we will need A SEPARATE FORM ENTRY FOR EACH CHILD. When the survey is completed, there will be an option to complete another form for other children.
The results of this survey are confidential.
You only need to fill out this survey if your student attends an RSU 12 school.
