We Need a SBWU National Strategy Assembly! Democracy In The Union! What's Our Strategy to Beat Starbucks?
Starbucks Workers United leadership promised to announce a National Assembly by July 13th, but they have not done so. We need a National Strategy Assembly because our movement needs a clear strategy to organize more stores, reinstate fired workers, and win a strong contract for all Starbucks workers. Starbucks has and will fight workers at every step of the way. We must openly discuss and debate our strategy to fight back!

A National Strategy Assembly agenda must cover:
  • Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of our movement up to this point and the challenges that organizing workers face
  • Democratize the leadership — elections and transparency for all major bodies from the individual store to the national union, including National Bargaining Committee and National Contract Action Team
  • Discuss and debate the important questions of tactics and strategy in the union including having clear publicized demands, how to fight retaliation and firings, and win a contract
  • Workers' proposals on strategy and a vote on all strategy ideas
  • Rally workers around a strong national plan of action for the Fall led by workers!
We, unionized Starbucks workers fighting in this movement, call on our leadership to convene a National Strategy Assembly for all organizing Starbucks workers by August 21st, announced by July 30th. If this is not done, we commit to building for and launching a National Strategy Assembly ourselves.

If you are a Starbucks worker who agrees we need a national strategy assembly, sign below and send this to five coworkers and post it in Discords/Slacks/group chats!
