Lecturer: José Riello, Professor in the Department of History and Art Theory of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Profile:  
José Riello is PhD Art History by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has served on several research projects related to Spanish and foreign artistic literature of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Within this field of study, he has devoted publications to two main subjects: Italian artistic literature—particularly that related to the image of ancient and modern Rome, including the Spanish critical edition of The Antiquities of Rome, by Andrea Palladio (2008); and Spanish art and literature, with his thesis on the manuscript written by Lázaro Díaz del Valle, mainly focused on Velázquez. Between 2008 and 2011 he worked in the Museo del Prado and currently he is professor in the Department of History and Art Theory of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He was curator of the exhibition La biblioteca del Greco (Madrid, Museo Nacional del Prado, 2014) and Atlas de las ruinas de Europa (Madrid, Centro Centro, 2016).
