"Earth Talk" and "Satish Kumar: Abundant Love"  Book Launch at Schumacher College. Wednesday 31st May - activities and options.

ASP director Jagdish Rattanani is coming over from India this month to mark the launch of his book: Satish Kumar: Abundant Love, written in conversation with Satish Kumar, who will also be in attendance, and co-authored by Sudarshan Iyengar and Lisa Pearson.

This is a fabulous opportunity for us to get together as ASP members to celebrate this great occasion and to gather for community reflection and exploration.

This is a free event, but accommodation and refreshments are your own cost.

Where: Dartington Campus (Schumacher College) Dartington, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 6EL

The proposed agenda is as follows – feel free to dip in and out at your leisure!

15:00-16:00   Gather at the coffee shop on the main Dartington campus.

16:00-17:00   Walk and Talk in the grounds.

  • Theme: "Trust - the antidote to fear".  This is a nod to Satish Kumar and his  peace walk of over 8,000 miles in June 1962 from New Delhi to Moscow, Paris, London, and Washington, D.C., the capitals of the world's earliest nuclear-armed countries. A walk that took him and his companion 2.5 years to complete. It is also an opportunity to explore how ASP and its’ members might integrate these principles.

17:00-18:00   Group reflection at the White Hart Pub on the Dartington campus

18:00-19:30   Dinner at the White Hart Pub

20:00-21:30   Evening with Satish/Jagdish and the book launch at the Great Hall

There is the possibility to stay overnight, both before and after the event.


If you are thinking of coming please let us know what options you are interested in. At this stage this is more a "statement of interest" rather than a commitment.

We will then inform attendees of the finalised details and how to register etc.
