Pony Club Achievers Award - Category B
Objectives:
To nationally recognize Pony Club ‘role models’ and raise the Pony Club image.
 We realise there are a lot of pony club members in every Area who are Achievers and this recognition is our way of saying ‘well done, we are proud to have you in our sport’.  


NZPCA Young Achievers Awards: To nationally recognise Pony Club ‘Role Models’ and raise the Pony Club image in the following categories:
Category A - to nationally recognise high achievements of Pony Club riding members, who must be under twenty-five years at 31st July in the year of the award.
Category B - to nationally recognise a dedicated Pony Club member who coaches and/or acts in an administrative role and who must be under twenty-five years at 31st July in the year of the award.

 Criteria for ‘Young Achiever’ Category A Award may include but is not limited to:

i. a rider who has attained their B, H or A certificate;
ii. a rider who has ridden at a NZPCA national championship level and/or international level;
iii. a member who has achieved success in another sporting field or the arts;
iv. a member with high academic achievements;
v. a member who exemplifies the ideal role model or has achieved in any capacity.

Criteria for Young Achiever – Category B Award – may include but is not limited to:

i. a riding member who has attained a minimum of C certificate.
ii. a member who has had significant input into pony club, e.g., Club committee, coach, working bees, course builder, event organiser etc.
iii. a member who has achieved success in another sporting field or the arts;
iv. a member who has achieved in another aspect of community involvement.
v. a member who exemplifies the ideal role model or has achieved in any capacity.


How does it work?  
Clubs and Branches fill in the nomination form and send to their Area by a set date.
Nominations to be sent in on the official nomination form (no additional information is to be attached.)
Area may accept or decline any nomination.  Areas may choose a maximum of five nominations in either or both categories.
On acceptance the Branch or Club completes the form for the nominee.  
The DC writes their comments, and the form goes back to Area for verification.
Area Chairperson / Secretary to authorise form by 16 June 2024.

The presentation:
The winners of each category will be announced annually at Conference. Each winner will receive a mounted and framed certificate and a cap. Winners are encouraged to be at Conference. Note: All unsuccessful nominees will receive a certificate recognising their achievement

Area’s responsibility:
Areas are encouraged to recognise their own achievers, profile them in local newspapers, announce them at pony club events, etc.
Areas will be expected to support the National Achievers and promote them within their Area.
If the recipient is not in attendance, a representative from their Area will take the National awards from Conference and the Area will arrange a suitable occasion for the presentation.

Nominations are to be submitted no later than 16 June 2024.
