2025 Pocahontas County Conservation Summer Day Camps
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Pocahontas County Conservation Summer Day Camps!
The goal of the camp is to give youth an exciting and immerisve outdoor experience. Camps will be from 10am to 2pm on June 24th-26th, July 22nd-24th, and August 12th-14th. Each month is a new theme, where students will discover a new topic in nature, science, and culture! 

Off the dock!

Participants will explore the lakes and wetlands of Pocahontas County, participating in activities like fishing, kayaking, and a marsh stomp.

Mythbusters

Campers will join naturalist Adam as we try to solve all of sciences greatest unknowns like, “Can you drop an egg off a roof?”, “If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”, and “Can the sun cook my food?”

The Campfire Games

Come one and come all for a day of sporting in fun events like double ball, archery, and a bear hunt??????


Some rules for camp
  • Fill out one form for each camper
  • Each camp costs $10 per camper per day 
  • Cash or check can be sent to Pocahontas Conservation Office (702 NW 7th St, Pocahontas, IA 50574)
  • Close toed shoes required for all camps
  • Each camper is responsible for bringing their own lunch, sunscreen, and bugspray 
  • Snacks will be provided
  • In the event at inclement weather all programs will still go on at Pocahontas Nature Center
